Moana - Tamaki Yamada

 The Maori word moana means “sea’ or “ocean”. People in New Zealand sometimes use it in English when talking about the sea. For example, we can say, “We walked by the beach and looked at the moana.” I think this word is interesting because it sounds nice and shows how important the ocean is to Maori people and to New Zealand. It also helps keep the Maori language alive in everyday life.
